How to move your mouse cursor without mouse?

You can control your mouse pointer with keyboard keys in all windows versions. When your mouse stops working, you can enable this keyboard feature to complete your important work. This keyboard mouse can performs all tasks same like a normal mouse.
Follow the given steps to activate the keyboard mouse:


To edit this feature, first you should log onto your computer with administrative rights.
To activate this feature, press Alt+Shift+NumLock keys at once and you will receive a small MouseKey box.


To keep MouseKeys on, click on Ok button or click on cancel button to cancel MouseKeys box.


Click on Settings button, if you want to adjust the mouse cursor detail settings.


Here a new dialog box will appear with the title "Settings for MouseKeys", now you can manage all mouse settings for example mouse cursor speed, acceleration and some other features.


Now using Numeric keypad, you can move your mouse pointer. The controls are:


"        1,2,3,4,6,7,8 and 9 keys are used to move the mouse cursor into different directions.


"        Key 5 is used as mouse click button.
"        Insert key used to hold down mouse button.
"        + Sign used to double click on any object.
"        Delete button used to release the mouse.
"        Click on NumLock button to disable this keyboard mouse feature

Hack Admin Password From User Mode

Follow these steps:


1. Open command prompt (Start->Run->cmd),
2. Enter the following command, then press ENTER
3. Enter the followin command, then press ENTER:compmgmt.mscThis should open the computer management console.
4. Go to local users & groups->users. Right click on any user and select "set password".
If you get a "access denied" do the following:


start>run>cmdthen use following commands
1) net user test /add (this command will make test named user)
2) net localgroup administrators test /add (this command will make test user as administrators rights)and use net user command to reset your admin. password

Shutdown is very slow - Windows XP

Start Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:


[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\MemoryManagement]Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown value to 0


Or, using Group Policy Editor [for Windows XP Professional]


Click Start, Run and type Secpol.mscClick Local Policies Security OptionsIn the right-pane, set Shutdown: Clear virtual memory pagefile to Disabled

Changing drives icon

First of all copy a icon file to the root of the drive.
example: c:\icon.ico


Then create a file called: autorun.inf in c:\autorun.inf


then open that file and type the following:


[autorun]
icon=icon.ico


save and close the file.


Now open my computer and refresh.. and woh! icon changed....
you can apply to other drives too.


be careful:


"autorun.inf" and "ico.ico" must be in the root of the drive.


example: c:\autorun.inf and c:\icon.ico.


same on the root.

Volume Icon in Taskbar

It's really handy to have access to the Volume Control panel in the event you quickly need to move the volume slider up or down. In its default state, XP ships with almost a clean slate for both the desktop and taskbar. So, if you'd like to place the volume control icon in the taskbar, you're going to need to make a little adjustment.


To place the volume control icon in the taskbar, follow these steps:


Single-click the Start menu.
Single-click Control Panel.
Single-click Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices.
Single-click Sounds and Audio Devices to launch the Sound and Audio Devices properties.


On the Volume tab, locate the text labeled "Device Volume" and place a check mark next to the text labeled "Place volume icon in the taskbar."


Single-click Apply.


You should now have the volume icon in the taskbar. Now all you need to do is double-click this icon to bring up your Volume Control panel.
